Diploma and Degree Programs

SCIT specializes in providing hands-on, career-focused education ranging from 8 month diploma programs to Bachelor of Science degrees. Our programs are accelerated, accredited, and designed to be flexible, yet rigorous. Courses emphasize lab and project work utilizing industrial devices, tools and software found throughout our expansive lab facilities and take-home trainers. Courses are offered during the early evening times (some programs also have morning classes) to accommodate students with working schedules, and may be offered in-person, online or hybrid. SCIT also provides a variety of student and career support services to help you manage your educational and professional path, including services such as managed schedules, academic support, resume assistance, job leads obtained from our network of employers, and much more.

Biomedical Technology 8 Months

Learn to maintain and repair medical equipment used throughout the healthcare industry in an 8 month, hands-on program aimed at preparing you for a career in biomedical technology. The program covers a broad spectrum of medical equipment found throughout medical centers and hospitals, including patient monitors, infusion pumps, ventilators, and much more. BMET’s are vital in supporting the healthcare industry by regularly servicing the medical devices used by healthcare providers every day.

General Electrician 8 Months

Learn residential, commercial and industrial electrical installation accordant with the National Electrical Code (NEC) in an 8 month, hands-on program aimed at preparing you for a range of electrical professions. SCIT is approved by the California Department of Industrial Relations (DIR), Division of Apprenticeship Standards to offer the Whole General Electrician Curriculum.

Industrial Automation Technology 8 Months

Learn to install, troubleshoot and program industrial devices used in automation systems in an 8 month, hands-on program aimed at preparing you for a range of industrial technician related professions. Students learn electrical installation, advanced electric motor control, advanced programmable logic controller (PLC) programming and troubleshooting, and pneumatics through a combination of lecture and extensive hands-on lab work.

Information Technology 8 Months

Learn to install and maintain computer network infrastructures for a range of business sizes and types in an 8 month, hands-on program aimed at preparing you for a career in information technology. Prepare for IT certifications, including: CompTIA A+®, Network+®, Security+®, and Cisco CCNA®. Bootcamp resources and workshops available.

B.S. Biomedical Engineering < 3 Years

The Biomedical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree is a rigorous, heavily lab-oriented engineering program aiming to develop practical engineering knowledge and skillsets for graduates seeking broad opportunities for professional growth or advancement in forward looking industries within the biomedical engineering space. Through a hands-on integrated approach, students learn about electronic circuitry, engineering software applications, biomedical imaging, biomedical instrumentation, DSP, robotic systems and more to understand how to identify and solve complex engineering problems found within the healthcare industry.

B.S. Electrical Engineering < 3 Years

The Electrical Engineering Bachelor’s Degree is a rigorous, heavily lab-oriented engineering program aiming to develop practical engineering knowledge and skillsets for graduates seeking broad opportunities for professional growth or advancement in electrical engineering or technologist related fields and industries. Through a hands-on integrated approach, students learn about electronic circuitry, engineering software applications, industrial and robotic systems, electrical power systems and distribution, electric machines, and more to understand how to identify and solve complex engineering problems found throughout a variety of industries.

B.S. Electronic Engineering < 3 Years

The Electronic Engineering Bachelor’s Degree is a rigorous, heavily lab-oriented engineering program aiming to develop practical engineering knowledge and skillsets for graduates seeking broad opportunities for professional growth or advancement in electronic engineering or technologist related fields and industries. Through a hands-on integrated approach, students learn about electronic circuitry, engineering software applications, telecommunication technologies, integrated circuits, and more to understand how to identify and solve complex engineering problems found throughout a variety of industries.

B.S. Information Systems < 3 Years

The Information Systems Bachelor’s Degree is a rigorous, heavily lab-oriented program aiming to educate students how to install, troubleshoot and secure IT infrastructures with an emphasis on cybersecurity practices in order to provide a foundation to seek employment within the information systems space. Through hands-on integrated courses, students learn to build network infrastructures made up of reliant, interconnected devices and services to provide feasible data management solutions for businesses of all sizes.

Prefer to study online? We design and build hundreds of exclusive, patented trainers to deliver a hands-on learning experience for those preferring to study online. Trainers are shipped to students as they progress through their coursework and send them back when finished. Instructors guide students on using the trainers to perform a variety of projects at home.

Pathway Program Options

Combine related diploma and degree programs into what we call pathway programs. The goal of pathway programs are for you enter a technical field quickly and work in the field while completing your degree. The combination of education, work experience, and income will give you the foundation for advancing your technical career quickly while also controlling the cost of education.

Front-Loaded & Milestone-Driven Educational Model

Take shorter programs first to acquire the skills needed for employability. Build up from there by working while studying toward a degree. It’s a fast-track route to begin a technical career. Work experience is not only valuable to employers, it helps students better connect concepts in the classroom and makes learning more engaging.

Pathway Program Combinations Include: General Electrician and B.S. Electrical Engineering (may help expedite eligibility to acquire C-10 contractor’s license), Biomedical Technology and B.S.
